Daily care for your parquet floor
Depending on how heavily your parquet is used, the care measures vary. Accidents such as spills should be cleaned up immediately to prevent penetration into the wood. Everyday dirt can be easily removed with a vacuum cleaner or hair broom. When using a vacuum cleaner, make sure that there are no small stones or foreign objects stuck to the nozzle as these can cause scratches. A special parquet attachment with a softer underside is recommended for this.
Another tip: Avoid walking on the parquet floor with street shoes. These may contain small stones that can cause scratches. By regularly removing dust and dirt, your parquet will stay beautiful for a long time.
Intensive care for your parquet floor
The protective layer applied to your parquet by oiling or painting wears off over time. However, with careful cleaning and appropriate care, your wooden floor will remain sparkling.
Regular cleaning :
- Clean the floor of dirt and dust using a vacuum cleaner or vacuum cleaner
- Dilute 100-200 ml of PJ Parkettreiniger with 10 liters of water and wipe the floor evenly.
For oiled floors :
- After basic cleaning, mix 500 ml of PJ Ölpflege with 10 liters of water and apply it in the direction of the wood grain. After about 1 hour the floor can be walked on again. If there is heavy wear and tear, PJ Oil Care can also be applied undiluted.
For painted floors :
- After basic cleaning, mix 100-250 ml of PJ Lackpflege with 10 liters of water and wipe the floor with it. After about 1 hour the floor can be walked on again.
Such a cleaning and care cycle every two months is sufficient for areas such as living rooms and bedrooms.
Proper cleaning and care revitalizes the surface of the parquet floor and provides it with a protective layer. However, caution should be exercised when using cleaning products as they can damage the surface.
With the right care, your parquet floor will always radiate cleanliness. Over time you will intuitively know what is good for your soil. A well-maintained parquet floor is always an eye-catcher.
